Job Title: Business Development Manager, Air & Ocean Freight Sector: Freight Forwarding / Import / Export / Ocean Freight / Sea Freight / Air Freight / Logistics / International transportation / LCL / FCL / Sales / B2B Sales Location: Midlands (Field Based) Package: 40,000 + car + bonus This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager with a proven track record in air and ocean freight sales to join a large and highly successful global freight forwarder. This company offer fantastic service levels and extremely competitive freight rates. They have developed an excellent reputation within the industry and are a successful and fast growing business. They are involved in all markets but have a particular strength in the Far East, US and India subcontinent. Daily Duties will include: Build a portfolio of accounts from targeted business development and your own existing network of clientsHave the ability to work on your own initiative, understanding client needs with a proactive approachProspect and develop new opportunities through varies means (telemarketing, direct mail, personal solicitation) to qualify and develop prospectsMeet with prospective clients and provide a consultative service tailored to their specific needsPromote the company's products and services through delivery of product presentations and demonstrationsWork strategically with the U.K. sales team to plan and create sales strategies and activities to increase personal and group profitability between branchesAct as an initial point of contact for all commercial customer enquiries, escalations and queriesSubmit regular personal budgets, opportunity pipelines and activity reports and statisticsPromote, develop and maintain specific markets, products and customer relationships to meet budgetary requirementsMaximise profit potential through regular reviews and identification of new opportunitiesIdentify means of improving services and quality to customers, to encourage continued business development and customer longevity, through maintaining and building open and collaborative relationshipsMaintain an awareness of competitor activity and pricing policies to ensure competitive marketingCreate Standard Operating Procedures where appropriate in conjunction with the operational departments to ensure a seamless introduction of new accounts into the operations departmentsManage client base in all areas, ensuring that any operational and financial issues are resolved, through the operational management, for an initial period of 1- 2 months following closure of the businessAny other reasonable requests Required experience: Experience of working in Freight Forwarding environmentSales experience (proven track record in Air/ Ocean freight sales)Full Driving LicenceComputer literate with knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Lotus NotesConfident, flexible, friendly, approachable and quick thinker Should your application be successful, you will be contacted within 5 working days for a confidential discussion regarding this position to further establish your suitability.
