Role Purpose: Our clients London Airfreight export business handles 1000's of shipments a month for a huge range of customers from all business sectors. They have a vacancy for an Export Specialist to join a dynamic team that undertakes a range of activities to support the overall London Airfreight export operation. Position Specification: Adhere to Customs Compliance procedures and documentationManage and Build Customer RelationshipsComplete retrospective Customs compliance actionsCustoms entry for Specialist License movementsEnsure the Job File is fully and accurately completed reflecting all commercially relevant information and services providedLiaise directly with Carriers and Handling Agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies as they ariseLiaise directly with DGF departments on shipment planning and coordinationLiaise directly with DGF Transport & Warehouse teams on shipment planning and coordinationLiaise directly with overseas offices on shipment planning and coordinationMaintain and update DfT complianceMaintain mandatory milestones and remarks through Logis (internal system)Manage allocated customers against agreed SOPUse Logis to create, manage and maintain London Airfreight shipmentsAny other duties as requiredUpdate GCCS (internal complaints tool) with all required inputs including root cause and solution when assignedSupport the measurement of Key Performance IndicatorsContribute to the First Choice continuous improvement programParticipate in the Weekly Team briefing sessionsComplete all statutory and mandatory training Person Specification: Two or more years' experience within the Freight Forwarding Industry. 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above - or equivalent desirableExperience of HMRC proceduresCommercial awareness.Clear and concise communication skills (written and spoken)Ability to follow processesAbility to support a culture of continuous improvementInter-personal skills - Influencing, communication, relationship management, cultural awareness and ability to work across teamsKnowledge of Freight Forwarding industry: Exports, exports and related processes
